Disappointed to have just heard from two companies that the winning tomato Zenith

is off the list for next year, they’re not breeding it anymore. A great pity as we have now lost two top quality show winning tomato varieties that’s going to be very difficult to replace.  However I’m on the case and I’m confident that with the international contacts that I have built up over the years that we will have something new to offer for 2015.  The second company just informed me this morning  that Parsnip pinnacle is to be taken off the list next year as well.  This is not too hard a blow as we now have some very good alternatives and I would say that both my new introductions this year – Victor F1 and Viper F1 are superior to it.

  1. Hi Medwyn, hope you’re well.

I’ve heard good reports of a tomato called Tourance. Do you have any info on this variety. Have you grown it?

    1. I’m on the case as regards Tourance nut I haven’t seen any good ones on the benches this year but perhaps time will tell. I am in touch with a number of breeders to try and find some good alternatives.

  2. Is Durinta still around Medwyn? I’ve seen some cracking dishes of that one in the past, but not for a long time I must admit.

    1. This was certainly a good variety but went off the market a few years ago, I will check around to see if it’s still available.
