Do you fancy yourself as a good tomato grower, then you should be able to grow Gigantomo to a very large size and possibly win the heaviest tomato at Harrogate this year. The autumn show at Harrogate is on the 16th to the 18th September. This year I have been able to persuade the Sponsors to add Place prizes to the class as well which should increase the interest and the entries. The First £1,000.00, Second £300.00, Third £150.00 and fourth is £50.00. The seed is available from our on line shop. A further £5,000 will be given if the fruit weight breaks the current world record which is held at 7lb 12oz.
To make absolutely sure that the competing tomato is from genuine Gigantomo stock, DNA samples will be taken from the calyx of the winning fruits and sent to Holland. This test can take up to a week before it’s verified and should it prove to be from another stock, my understanding is that the prize money would be forfeited. The winning fruit last year was grown by Joe Atherton and weighed 3lb 8ozs.

All the seeds I obtained from you, including the Gigantimos, have germinated beautifully and are growing on well as young plants. The Zeniths and Sungolds were particularly fast out of the traps, creating their first three true leaves faster than anything else I have grown this season.
