Malvern Show

We had a brilliant weekend at Malvern – Liverpool winning – Wales winning (say no more) winning a Gold with my display and winning the best Exhibit with the display as well. Lets hope we can do the buisness this afternoon against Fiji who are a really powerful side. Some pictures from Malvern –

He's hoping to stage three next Tuesday as well at the RHS Autumn show in London, what he doesn’t know however is that his great pal David Thornton is keeping his powder dry regarding his entry!

Jim Thompson is rarely out of the cards at any show, this time winning with a great dish of Meccano tomatoes and coming second to Marcus with his collection.

Ian Neale wins the heaviest Swede class with a specimen weighing in at 36.2 Kg. However it was well short of the World Record which is held by Ian himself at 54 Kg. We have seed of this strain just harvested this year if you fancy having a go next year.

The heaviest Leek in the World. This was the best conditioned leek that I have ever seen at a heaviest vegetable competition. Apart from a split button at the back it would have done well at any quality show with a another matching one.

    Medwyn, I think you’ll find Wales didn’t win, England lost it (c’mon Fiji!), Liverpool did their best to lose (as usual) and me being Dave Thornton’s great pal is just a malicious rumour! Bring on Tuesday morning!

    Great display and make sure you keep us all informed about that new tomato variety. Looks very promising, better than Zenith I reckon.

    Still gutted about Saturday night!
